Our Mission

The Bedford Business Association (BBA) aims to create economic growth while fostering community well-being.

The BBA will do this by promoting a dynamic business and residential environment using the unique strengths of the businesses and people of Bedford.

The BBA will develop a network for business to meet and support each other, and act as a advocacy group for Bedford business.

Our History

A vibrant, diverse business community has always been part of Bedford. The BBA was born from a desire to bring members of our business community together to nurture continued economic growth and prosperity.

Before 1998

In July of 1998, the Bedford Main Street Retail Association (now inactive) was formed. For several years its purpose was to work together to assist members, network, advocate on legislative issues and promote Bedford.

January 2011

In 2011, several businesses expressed an interest to proceed with a different model that would be similar to the former Bedford Board of Trade. It would be member driven and yearly fees would be set by the membership. Businesses wanted networking programs and “buy local” plans. They would work to improve streetscapes and advocate on behalf of the local business community.

Present Day

By February of 2011, an interim Board was in place and started again working on forming an Association. The Bedford Business Association is growing everyday and we are looking forward to expanding even more.
